About Me

I’m Danielle, a single girl living in Central Ohio, and trying to do it sustainably.

Last year I moved into a new place and when I did, I decided to go green, so I registered my new home as a residential GreenSpot. Now, I proudly display this fact on my window for all my neighbors to become inspired. But, after taking a course on sustainability in my MBA program, I realized that living green was just the start of the changes I wanted to make in my life. I wanted to take my GreenSpot farther and try to live sustainably. This meant that my lifestyle would have to be in balance environmentally, socially, and economically.

Trying to live this balanced lifestyle has been easier than I had initially imagined and, at the same time, more of a challenge too. I am no No Impact Man and I don’t think that’s what I’d ever strive to be. I just want to try to make my mark on this planet in such a way as to do as little harm to it while I’m here as possible, and not rob future generations of the beauty I’ve seen and experienced.

So, I thought I’d share some of my sustainable lifestyle experiences with you. I hope you read something that brings you inspiration as well.

Wanted to make you aware of the SWACO Emerald awards for waste reduction & recycling. Here is a link our web site:

These awards are designed to honor those businesses, non-profits, and individuals in Franklin County with outstanding “green” deeds in 2010. I invite you to read over the categories and nominate yourself or someone you know. Deadline for nominations is March 25th.

    Hi Danielle,
I stumbled across your blog and wanted you to know how excited the Mayor’s Office of Environmental Stewardship is to have you carrying the GreenSpot message on!

Thank you so much, Leslie! I think this is a fabulous program, and I’m proud to be a residential GreenSpot.

A tag search with ‘environment’ brought me here and I can’t be happier! I just started blogging on similar lines of ‘making my life more green and probably inspire a few others to follow suit’. Can’t wait to dig through your archive!

Hi, my name is Alex. I am an undergrad at osu working on the net impact certificate program that we are going to launch next year. I noticed that you have some experience in venture capital and I was hoping to learn more about the industry and how it can relate to sustainability. I was hoping we might be able to exchange emails or meet up. Thanks!
